New pavement or old sealcoating
New Asphalt pavements seem dense and indestructible, but actually they are rather
porous and begin to deteriorate immediately. Is the surface pale? When was the
last time you had your pavement sealcoated? If it's been more than 18 months you
need to consider sealcoating. |
Sealing
Sealmaster Coal Tar Sealer replenishes the binder in the asphalt that is lost
through weathering and aging, and provides superior protection against environmental
distress. Sealmaster restores the original black color to asphalt and greatly
enhances the overall appearance of your property. |
Extended cracks ¼" wide or more
These types of cracks offer moisture a route beneath your pavement and can cause
significant structural damage. These cracks need to be cleaned and sealed with
a cracksealing material before winter sets in. |
Crack Filling
Crack filling seals out damaging moisture that can erode base materials. Shamrock
uses hot rubberized crack filling materials, as well as cold pour materials. |
Potholes
These need to be repaired immediately because potholes will cause extensive and
costly damage to surrounding pavement the longer they are allowed to exist. Fixing
potholes is a pre-winter "must" repair. |
Cold Patch
Shamrock uses all-weather cold patch, which provides economical lasting repairs. First, damaged area is filled in and leveled. Next we use a hand tamper, vibrating tamper, or roller to secure the patch material into the damaged area.

Alligator Cracking
Often called "spider web" or "chicken wire" cracking. This type of cracking generally
indicates you already have a problem with the base under the pavement. Areas with
this type of cracking need to be cut-out and replaced (the sooner the better). Schedule this work for Fall or for first thing in the Spring at the latest. |
Cut Outs
First we cut the perimeter, remove the damaged area, clean the surface, and dispose of the old asphalt. Next Shamrock will apply strips of RS-1 track coat to promote bonding. We then install 4" of 404 Hot Asphalt Mix. The completed thickness of the 404 Hot Asphalt Mix will be 3".
